Forsaken World - Video Clip of Beginner Combat
This is a clip of my character, Lanidia, engaged in some easy combat with some beasts in the starter area of Forsaken World, a free to play beta title from Perfect World Entertainment. So far, I've been quite impressed with the game. More to come.

Pocket Legends - My On The Go Fix
Appearing on an Android based smart phone, IPad or IPhone near you is Pocket Legends, my current personal favorite for an MMORPG fix on the go. Granted it is pretty much a limited action RPG dungeon romp with forced grouping, but it is a good one and as much fun as any game I've played on my Android phone. Earlier this month, what is billed as the largest mobile MMORPG became bigger with update 1.7 going live. Have been busy running through Forsaken World and Rift betas recently, but I think a return to Pocket Legends will be happening soon, and often, especially during lunch hour.

Champions Online - A Video Capture Test
So, as I've posted before, I'm a subscriber to Champions Online, and it is one of my favorites so it was an obvious choice to use as a test game for my excursion into video capture software, which seems to consist mainly of two choices, Gamecam and FRAPS. Been trying them both out. Hard to say which way to go on the choice though, they both have benefits and weaknesses. Anyway, the above clip is one from Gamecam. Not really entirely happy with it. Back to the experiments. It is a clip of one of my alts, Miss Mercury, a force based character doing her thing in Millennium City.

Editorial Style - Parental Responsibility
Shawn Schuster over at Massively.com posted an opinion piece regarding gaming and children, and specifically MMORPG gaming, although that is just because that's what the blog concentrates on. Simple matter of fact is that no matter what type of gaming you do, if you have kids, they should come first. In all actuality, no matter what you are doing, gaming or otherwise, your kids should come first in your life. Someone should probably mention that to my ex. Check out Shaun's excellent article through the link.

Everquest 2 - Destiny of Velious
I never played Everqest or its many expansions enough to really have a nostalgic attachment to it. I dabbled a bit here and there every time I got some free play time or a trial offer, but that was it. Wasn't until much later I spent any time in the game, and even then it wasn't much. Many people have a sentimental attachment to the Velious local and the corresponding expansion from the original Everquest game. Not so much for me. I am looking forward to the free flying mounts though. That should be an interesting addition to Everquest 2. Would be even better if the Everquest 2 world was set up like the Vanguard world, but I digress. Despite what issues I may have with the game, Everquest 2 is one of my favorite MMORPGs and the one I always go back to. Can't wait for the new expansion. I've got my pre-order in already.

Visiting Alganon - The First Day Out
And so I had been vaguely aware of Alganon's existence for quite some time, it sitting on the outskirts of my consciousness, a game that was getting some hype, but was largely dismissed by many from the beta leaks as a World of Warcraft clone. Generating reports from early testing like that isn't unusual, and I've been in enough betas to know that what goes on in beta isn't always what hits retail. Age of Conan was proof of that to a certain extent, although I doubt anyone that didn't spend a long time in that beta would understand what a great leap forward, and huge surprise, the retail client was on launch day over the last beta build that was pushed out. Granted, it still was a train wreck of a build, but the beta client was much, much worse. Trust me on that. Anyway, to make a long story short, I was aware of Alganon, where it was headed, but because of the early reports, really didn't keep close tabs on it or expect to ever play it. At all. It just didn't sound like my type of game.
Embarking on Adventure, of Course.
And so, for a moment, to speak to the purpose of this blog, it exists as a place for my commentaries on my Massively Multi player Online game adventures, the journeys though various virtual worlds, all of which offer something different. That is, perhaps, the reason that I can't seem to quite settle on one. Many players seem quite content to find one game and play it for years, sadly that is not I. Every new game, subscription, Free to play, etc., seems to offer a new experience, a new world to explore, and I, being way too curious for my own good, find it hard to stay away. I'm probably the poster boy for Sony's Station Pass program, which yes, I subscribe to.
